TREASURERS REPORT
Chris Lates gave an update; everyone was given a treasurer's statement and Margaret Coupe said she could book an independent taxi at a cheaper rate than is at present being used. Copies of the report can be obtained from Marilyn if required.
AMANDA GARRARD
A handout was circulated which included Co2 Charter and Green issues, These will be discussed at the January green committee meeting and will include: raising awareness, sustainable materials, recycling, reduce waste, energy efficiency and how we might re-use things from homes 40% can be re-used. Transport policies and reducing fuel consumption.
Insulation for the elderly and vulnerable will be a priority.
A proposed new void guarantee was circulated, a copy is attached and this will be up for discussion and agreed on at the next meeting.
FIRE SAFETY
Dave Gardener from the fire safety investigation team showed a disturbing film of the dangers of Christmas decorations and the speed in which fire can spread. As a result the outcome is that all communal areas and stairwells shall remain sterile.
Pennine will do a risk assessment and upgrade fire alarms, fire doors and do fire safety checks to ensure they are at government standard.
AERIALS
Marilyn & Simon Smith gave a presentation on how the switch to digital television will affect us and how the installation of new aerials will carried out. Simon showed us the process on screen and information leaflets were distributed.
CHALLENGE PENNINE
Val Morris did a challenge Pennine exercise to see what services reached our expectations she will compile the results and will get back to us with a review in due course.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
The New Year party will be held on the 10th January 2009 at the Maurice Jagger centre in Halifax from 7. 30p.m. onwards, tickets are £3.00p
The committee skills course has been postponed until the spring please let Jo know if you are interested.
Area forums to encourage tenants to grow there own vegetables and fruit are proposed and a homing in leaflet to inform and advertise will be produced.
Peter Dawson and Geoff Killerby are to be invited to the next meeting.
THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE 25TH FEBRUARY 2009, AT 7.30P.M. VENUE TO BE ARRANGED.
There will be a planning meeting on the 14th January 2009 from 6p.m to 8.p.m. to discuss the future for land and buildings of new housing in Calderdale.
